“Take heart, Daughter” Matt.9:22 This encouragement from the lips of Jesus surely comforted a hurting woman’s soul thousands of years ago. And it offers a similar gospel hope to you today too. Come join biblical culturalist and seminary professor Kristi McLelland as she takes you back to Jesus’ first-century world, and explains the historical and cultural climate of His day to help you know Him more dearly. This is a 7-session (14 week) study where we will look at several of Jesus’ interactions with women in the Bible. We will learn to see the stories in a new way, through the eyes of a middle eastern lens. We will discover the differences between how we have traditionally been taught to see and interpret the Bible as Westerners, and how different the Bible is interpreted in the context of the culture of the Mid-East. You will be astounded as the Bible comes alive in a new way!
